My Journey

I know how difficult breastfeeding  and the postpartum period can be! While my love for the science of lactation began during my nutrition studies, my passion for helping families like you, evolved from my own challenges breastfeeding my two children.  We experienced everything from  mastitis and  bottle refusal,  to tandem nursing, dysphagia and  tongue tie.  I clearly remember how I felt at all of these stages, and how I just needed someone to help me navigate it all.  That's where I come in.  Support is so vitally important in early parenthood and when feeding your baby is going well, you have more time to enjoy your baby.

I have experience teaching newborn care and breastfeeding classes for a large Northern California hospital and managing a program for pregnant and postpartum woman with dual diagnosis. I have additional education  in perinatal mood disorders,  and  have a special interest in the  emotional well-being of expecting and new families. I currently help moderate a  large lactation support group on Facebook.  I am a cafephile, avid baker, and retired marathoner, raising two outdoor play structure connoisseurs. In my spare time I attempt DIY projects, which means I have many Pinterest boards full of  ideas I will never complete.
